Tristan Thompsons younger brother, Amari, has epilepsy and requires constant support and help from others. Amaris mother, Andrea, died of a heart attack in January 2023, and Tristan sought and was granted temporary guardianship of Amari. As his guardian, Tristan can manage Amaris finances, travel with him, decide on living arrangements, and more. Tristan became Amaris sole caregiver after their mothers death, and he is Amaris closest living family member. Amari moved into Tristans Hidden Hills, California home following Andreas death.
