At the 16 week midwife appointment, you will have your second antenatal appointment with your midwife to check baby size and fetal development. During this appointment, your midwife will check your blood pressure and carry out another urine check to make sure you’re not at risk of developing pre-eclampsia, which is a serious pregnancy condition. You may also get to listen to your baby’s heartbeat and get the results of any blood tests you had at your booking appointment. Additionally, your midwife will review, discuss, and record the results of any screening tests from the last appointment. You can also ask questions about anything that may be worrying you or discuss any problems you may be having. Finally, you may want to complete your pregnancy and post-birth wellbeing plan.
