South America is mostly located in the Southern Hemisphere. The Southern Hemisphere is the half of the Earth that is south of the Equator. It contains all or parts of five continents, including the whole of Antarctica, the whole of Australia, about 90% of South America, one-third of Africa, and some Asian islands. Therefore, South America is located in the Southern Hemisphere.
