Michael Jordan attended Emsley A. Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina for high school. He played basketball, baseball, and football in high school, but he was initially cut from the varsity basketball team during his sophomore year. However, he used this as motivation to work harder and eventually made the team the following year.
