According to multiple sources, including The New York Times, AP News, and The Washington Post, presumed human remains have been recovered from the wreckage of the Titan submersible. The submersible imploded during a deep-sea mission towards the wreck of the Titanic in June 2023, killing all five people aboard, including OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, who was piloting the vessel during its final descent. The Coast Guard has recovered remaining debris, including the intact aft titanium endcap of the 22-foot vessel, and additional presumed human remains were carefully recovered from within Titans debris and transported for analysis by U.S. medical professionals. The remains could belong to one or more of the five people who were aboard the submersible. The investigation is still ongoing, and the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board and other international investigative agencies will schedule a joint review of the recovered Titan debris to determine the next steps for forensic testing.
