Several insects can cause blisters when they bite. Here are some of them:

• Mosquitoes: Mosquito bites can cause a lot of swelling, beyond the small bump most people get. When the area becomes swollen, fluid can come up under the top layers of skin and form a blister.

• Fire ants: Fire ant bites can change to blisters or pimples within a few hours.

• Blister beetles: Blisters or welts caused by a chemical called cantharidin can appear when blister beetles bite.

• Ticks: Ticks may leave red lumps where they bite. Allergic individuals may develop itchiness, blisters, and bruises.

Its important not to scratch or break open the blisters because they can become infected. If you have signs of infection, such as pus, sores, fever, and redness that spreads from the bite site and doesn’t go away, you should see a doctor.
