To find out what iPhone model you have, there are several ways to do it:
-
Check the "About" page in the Settings app: Open the Settings app, then select General > About. If your iPhone is running iOS 12.2 or later, you should see the Model Name listed on the third line. Underneath the Model Name, a Model Number is listed. Tap that SKU code, and itll be replaced by your actual model number, which is a shorter code that starts with an "A".
-
Look on your device: On an iPhone 8 or later model that has a SIM tray, remove the SIM tray and look in the slot. On an iPhone 7 or earlier, an iPad, or an iPod touch, find the model number on the back of your device.
-
Find the "A" model number on pre-2017 iPhones: Youll find your iPhones A model number stamped on the back of your device. Flip it over, and then look for the "Model AXXXX" identifier. Itll be in fine print below the "iPhone" label. If you cant read the text on the back of an iPhone or it isnt there, you can just launch the Settings app and then navigate to General > About. From there, tap once on Model Number to reveal the phones A model number.
Once you have the model number, you can match it to the corresponding iPhone model on Apples support pages or other websites.
