3E coach is a type of travel class available in some Duronto trains and Garib Rath Express in Indian Railways. It stands for 3rd AC Economy and is similar to 3A coaches, but with a different number of berths in each compartment. In 3A class, there are 6 berths and 2 side berths in each compartment, but in 3E class, there are 3 side berths making it a total of 9 berths per compartment. The 3E coach was an initiative by Lalu Prasad Yadav to enable poor people to travel by AC coaches.
