In the UK, the equivalent of 5th grade is Year 6. Year 6 is the fifth full year of compulsory education, with children being admitted whose ninth birthday is before 1 September in any given academic year. It is also the third year of Key Stage 2 in which the National Curriculum is taught. Children in Year 6 are usually aged between ten and eleven.
