A bait dog is a dog that is used in dogfighting to train other dogs and gauge fighting ability. They are often chosen for their non-aggressive nature and vulnerability. Bait dogs are typically smaller and weaker than the dogs they are being trained to fight. The objective is to use a dog that does not fight back and injure the fighting dog, and to help the fighting dog learn how to fight, get a taste for blood and so on. Bait dogs suffer extreme physical and psychological abuse, including severe injuries and trauma. They are deliberately chosen for their passive nature and inability to defend themselves against aggressive fighters. Bait dogs can be any dog, and they could even be someones pet. The use of animals for entertainment should be banned worldwide.
