A biography is an account of someones life written by someone else. It is a detailed description of a persons life, including their experiences, accomplishments, and life events. Biographies can be about a person who is still alive, someone who lived centuries ago, someone who is globally famous, an unsung hero forgotten by history, or even a unique group of people. Biographers require a great deal of research, and sources of information could be as direct as an interview with the subject providing their own interpretation of their life’s events. Biographies can be written in many forms, including literature, film, poetry, and opera. The biographers ultimate goal is to recreate the world their subject lived in and describe how they functioned within it. Biographies are usually non-fiction, but fiction can also be used to portray a persons life.
