BOLO is an acronym that stands for "be on the lookout" and is used in law enforcement to instruct officers or the general public to watch out for a suspect. It is a broadcast issued from a law enforcement agency to others, typically containing information about a wanted suspect, a person of interest, or a related vehicle. A BOLO is most often issued in a situation where a criminal is on the run from law enforcement officers. Once law enforcement officers receive the complaint, they signal their men on that road to look for the suspects car so that the car can be recovered and the suspect arrested. BOLO is not a new weapon used by the police, nor is it the name of a new software used by law enforcement. It is just one of the many acronyms in the "police jargon".
