A centi-millionaire is an individual who possesses $100 million or more in investable assets. This group of ultra-wealthy individuals is typically made up of the founders of large multinational companies or the heirs to vast family fortunes. According to the 2023 Centi-Millionaire Report, there are only 28,420 centi-millionaires in the world, making this a very elite club. The number of centi-millionaires in the world has more than doubled in the last 20 years and is up by 12% versus last year. The US is home to the worlds highest concentration of this "super wealthy" group, with 9,630 centi-millionaires living in the country as of March 2023. Women represent 15% of centi-millionaires globally, and three countries, Madagascar, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, boast more female centi-millionaires than their male counterparts. The wealth of centi-millionaires has generally come from four sources: inheritance, selling off their small- to medium-sized enterprises, trading and investing in stock markets, and leading multi-nationals and highly successful tech companies.
