A DFX file is a type of CAD data file format developed by Autodesk for enabling data interoperability between AutoCAD and other programs. It was introduced in December 1982 as part of AutoCAD 1.0, and was intended to provide an exact representation of the data in the AutoCAD native file format, DWG (Drawing) . DFX is a vector-based graphics file format used to store 2D and 3D designs, and is capable of storing both vector and raster images, and allows users to add text, notes and other information. DXF files are used to store technical drawings such as diagrams, illustrations, floor plans and other types of detailed designs. DXF files are supported by various software applications including the AutoCAD suite from Autodesk, CADopia, ZWCAD, TurboCAD, and other engineering software. To open and edit a DFX file, you’ll need a program that supports this format, such as Autodesk AutoCAD, CADopia, ZWCAD and TurboCAD.
