A doppelganger is a mysterious, exact double of a living person. The term doppelganger is derived from the German word which can be translated into ‘double-goer’ . In the past, doppelgangers were believed to be paranormal and were seen as a harbinger of bad luck. However, today, the term doppelganger is used in a more general and neutral way to describe a person who looks or acts the same way as we do. Sightings and reports of doppelgangers have been around for centuries, and a great deal of superstition has developed around them. Traditionally, they have been viewed as sinister or even evil entities. In modern times, the term twin stranger is occasionally used. Doppelgangers are frequently used as a plot device in literature, television shows, and movies. According to new research, people with very similar faces also share many of the same genes and lifestyle traits. However, the look-alikes had very different microbiomes, or communities of helpful and harmful microbes that live on and in the human body, and different epigenomes, or variations in expressed traits influenced by the experiences of past.
