Equivalent fractions are fractions that represent the same value, even though they look different. For example, 1/2, 6/12, and 50/100 are all equivalent fractions because they represent the same part of a whole. To find equivalent fractions, we can multiply or divide both the numerator and denominator by the same number. As long as we multiply or divide both the top and bottom of the fraction by the same number, we wont change the value of the fraction, and well create an equivalent fraction. For example, to find two equivalent fractions for 3/8, we can multiply both the numerator and denominator by 2 to get 6/16 and 9/24.
