In Magic: The Gathering, a historic spell refers to a card, spell, or permanent that has the legendary supertype, the artifact card type, or the Saga subtype. Historic is also a non-rotating constructed format in MTG Arena that consists of all the available cards on the platform, including those that are banned or suspended. In this format, cards with the legendary supertype, cards with the artifact type, and enchantments with the saga subtype are considered historic cards. Historic spells can only trigger a card that cares about historic spells once, regardless of how many types it has that make it historic. Historic Anthologies are also added to the game to support the Historic format, which are collections of 15-20 cards added together to MTG Arena that add support for different strategies and themes.
