Homecoming, or "HoCo" for short, is a tradition in many high schools, colleges, and churches in the United States and Liberia. It is a week-long celebration that typically includes a variety of events, such as dress-up days, pep rallies, parades, and sporting events. The culminating event of the week is usually a formal dance, held on a Saturday night. The dance is a chance for students to dress up and celebrate with their classmates. Pep rallies are also a big part of homecoming week, designed to bring out school spirit and encourage the football team to do their best. Tailgate parties and picnics may also occur during the week. Overall, homecoming is a time for alumni and current students to come together and celebrate their schools existence and community.
