A hookah lounge, also known as a shisha bar or den, is a social establishment where patrons share shisha, which is flavored tobacco smoked through a hookah. The hookah consists of a glass base, a bowl for the tobacco, a hose, and a hose handle. The tobacco is heated by charcoal, which is placed on top of the hookah bowl, and the smoke is drawn through the glass water base and into the hose, where the smoker inhales it. Hookah lounges are often decorated with colorful lights and comfortable seating, and they often have a relaxed and festive atmosphere. Many hookah lounges also serve food and drink, and some even offer live entertainment. Hookah lounges are popular in many countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. However, hookah smoking can be harmful to both smokers and non-smokers, as hookah smoke contains many of the same toxic chemicals found in cigarettes and it has not been shown to be safer.
