The name "Kraken" is a reference to a mythical sea creature of immense power and mystery that supposedly lived in the seas off the coasts of Norway and Iceland. The name was chosen due to its uniqueness and strong connections to Seattles maritime history and Pacific Northwest folklore. The Krakens logo and colors were carefully crafted to reflect the citys unique identity and the mystique of the mythical sea creature they were named after.
