The Malay mancatcher is a type of booby trap that appears in the short story "The Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell. It is a trap that is designed to smash a person underneath a large, falling dead tree. The trap is made by laying a dead tree on a living one, with a trigger which when stepped on, causes the smaller tree to give way, allowing the larger tree to fall. The trap originates from Malacca, and according to General Zaroff, not many men are able to construct a Malay mancatcher. In the story, Rainsford sets up the trap to fight for his life against General Zaroff, and the trap injures the General, but not badly enough to interfere with the game.
