A Patient Service Representative (PSR) is a professional who works in healthcare settings and is responsible for scheduling patient appointments, welcoming patients, and explaining what they can expect from their visit. They also make reminder calls to patients, assist them with filling out forms, and receive and process payments for medical services rendered. A PSR may work in hospitals, clinics, or doctors offices, and they work with many other medical professionals like doctors and nurses throughout their shift. Some PSR programs teach administrative components of a medical practice.
