A quiver is a container used to hold arrows or bolts in archery. It can be carried on an archers body, the bow, or the ground, depending on the type of shooting and the archers personal preference. Quivers come in many styles, including flat or cylindrical containers suspended from the belt, back quivers secured to the archers back by leather straps, and ground quivers used for target shooting or warfare when the archer is shooting from a fixed location. The term "quiver" is believed to have originated from the motion used when pulling out arrows from one.
