A razorback hog is a feral pig or wild boar that is found in the Americas and Australia. The term "razorback" is an Americanism applied to feral pigs or boar-pig hybrids, and it refers to their high, hair-covered backbone and ill-mannered temper. Razorback hogs are considered ruthless and dangerous when backed into a corner. They are intelligent, equipped with keen senses, swift, wary, easily agitated, and aggressive when cornered. Razorback hogs are black in color with bristly hair and oversized heads, and males can grow up to five feet in length and weigh up to 300 pounds. They are becoming an invasive pest in Arkansas, where they live in every county in the state and cause damage to forests, crops, and water sources. Feral pigs are notoriously hard to eradicate, and they reproduce rapidly. Despite being a beloved mascot for the University of Arkansas sports teams, razorback hogs are incredibly destructive and a nuisance across the U.S. .
