Sasquatch, also commonly referred to as Bigfoot, is a large and hairy human-like mythical creature that is believed to inhabit forests in North America, particularly in the Pacific Northwest. It is described as a bipedal ape-like creature, significantly larger than the average man, and completely covered in dark brown or reddish hair. Sasquatch is variably described as a primate ranging from 6 to 15 feet tall, standing erect on two feet, often giving off a foul smell, and either moving silently or emitting a high-pitched cry. The name "Sasquatch" is the anglicized version of sasqets (sas-kets), roughly translating to "hairy man" in the Halqemeylem language. The creature is considered sacred to West Coast First Nations, particularly the Stsailes, who have lived in the Harrison River Valley for at least 10,000 years. Despite numerous sightings and alleged evidence, there is no hard scientific evidence to prove the existence of Sasquatch.
