Shikigami are a type of familiar monster in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe that cannot be seen by non-sorcerers and are tamed to be used by sorcerers in battle. They are created by the persons cursed energy and an intermediary, and the Ten Shadows Technique gives the user ten unique shikigami. Shikigami users tend to be weak in close-range combat, as their shikigami are their primary source of attack and defense. The effectiveness of shikigami depends on the sorcerers ability to use them and the shikigami’s strength and abilities.

Some of the strongest shikigami in Jujutsu Kaisen include Eight-handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga, Round Deer, Piercing Bull, Max Elephant, Nue, Great Serpent, and Divine Dogs. Megumi Fushiguro, a first-year student at Jujutsu High, has seven shikigami that he can manipulate with his Ten Shadows Technique. His shikigami include Rabbit Escape, Toad, Max Elephant, Nue, Great Serpent, Divine Dogs, and Divine Dog: Totality.

Shikigami must be tamed before being used, which suggests they must reside in some other realm so they can be ready for battle when summoned. The Shikigami may remain in a spiritual realm while they are not being used. There have been several Shikigami users in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe, and they are ranked based on their strength.
