A stomp pad is an accessory used by snowboarders to provide traction for their back foot when getting off the chairlift or when riding with only one foot strapped in. It is a grippy sticker or a large rubber or metal piece that is attached to the top sheet of the snowboard between the bindings. The stomp pad has a grippy top surface for rider grip and an adhesive bottom to stick to the board. The point of a stomp pad is to help keep control of the board when getting off the chair or when riding with only one foot strapped in. It can also help prevent the board from getting scratched up.
