A USI (Unique Student Identifier) is an individual education number for life that is specific to each student. It is a reference number made up of ten numbers and letters that is free and easy to create. A USI creates a government-authenticated record of a students vocational education and training (VET) undertaken in Australia. It gives students access to an online record of their nationally recognized training in the form of a USI Transcript, which can be used when applying for a job, seeking a credit transfer, or demonstrating prerequisites when undertaking further training. Students only need to create a USI once, and it stays with them for life. Students can create their USI in the Student Portal.
