Webelos is a term used in the Boy Scouts of America program. It stands for "Well Be Loyal Scouts" and is a rank in the Cub Scout program. Webelos Scouts are typically in the fourth or fifth grade and are preparing to transition to the Scouts BSA program. They work on five required Webelos adventures and choose two of the 18 elective adventures that are shared by the Webelos and Arrow of Light ranks. After completing seven adventures, including five required adventures and two elective adventures, a youth has earned the Webelos badge. The key factor to a good Webelos transition is the ongoing working relationship of the leaders of a Cub Scout pack and a Scouts BSA troop. Some ways to facilitate this transition include planning visits to troop meetings, inviting the Scoutmaster and troop youth leaders to special pack activities, and planning a meaningful crossover ceremony.
