A work card is a document that is required for certain occupations in Las Vegas, Nevada, such as bartenders, child care workers, and adult entertainers. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) issues work cards in accordance with provisions prescribed by Nevada Revised Statute, Clark County Ordinances, and Las Vegas Municipal Code. Work cards are valid for 5 years from the date of issuance and are valid only for the type of employment for which they were originally issued. The fees for work cards are non-refundable and can be paid via credit/debit cards, cash, money orders, or cashiers checks for the exact fee only. Work cards are issued by the LVMPDs Fingerprinting Bureau, and workers have to get fingerprinted and possibly undergo a background check. Work card holders are required to notify the LVMPD within five days of any changes in employment, name change, or change in residence.
