Adhkar is the plural of dhikr and refers to remembrances in Islam. It is defined as the remembrance of Allah very often with those legislated duas or supplications, such as saying "Glory be to Allah" and "All Praise be to Allah". The morning and evening adhkar are a collection of duʿās and remembrances prescribed by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ which a Muslim should read on a daily basis. These daily adhkār are a protection from all types of evil, including envy, magic, the evil eye, and the devils’ evil plotting.

Reciting adhkar is considered to be the simplest act of worship which you can do anytime of the day, while doing anything at all. It is believed to remove the rust of the heart and purify it, and helps one to withstand from sinning. Adhkar also ensures peace and serenity of the mind, as well as success in this life and the Hereafter.

The morning adhkar should be recited between Fajr and sunrise, and the evening adhkar should be recited between ʿAṣr and sunset. However, if one is unable to recite them during the above times, they can make up for them later.

Some examples of adhkar include saying "Hasbi Allaah laa illaha illa huwa (sufficient for me is Allah, there is no god besides Him…)". There are many benefits of reciting morning and evening adhkar, which can bring immense blessings and barakah into ones daily life.
