In golf, an ace is a score of 1 in any hole, also known as a "hole-in-one". It is acquired with only a single stroke, meaning the ball is hit from the tee into the hole with one shot. An ace is one of the most coveted accomplishments in golf and is often regarded as the greatest and rarest achievement a golfer can attain. It is also considered the rarest feat in golf, regardless of skill level. Aces are most commonly achieved on par 3 holes, which are generally around 200 yards or less. However, it is possible to achieve an ace on a par 4 or par 5 hole, although it is exceedingly rare. When an ace is achieved on a par 4, it is also known as an "albatross" or "double eagle," and the golfer is three under par on the hole. When an ace is achieved on a par 5, it is known as a "condor," "four under par," "double albatross," or "triple eagle," and the golfer is four under par on the hole.
