In blackjack, an Ace is worth either 1 or 11, depending on which value is most advantageous for the player. If the Ace is used as 11, it will have a value of 1 if that would give the player or the dealer a score in excess of 21. All other cards are at face value, except for the King, Queen, and Jack, which count as 10. If a players first two cards are an Ace and any 10 value card, it is called a "Blackjack," and the player is paid one-and-a-half times their bet. If the dealer has two Aces, the first Ace will always be worth 11 unless it will bust the hand, and the second Ace and any subsequent Aces will be worth 1.
