Reveille is the official mascot of Texas A&M University and is known as the First Lady of Aggieland). Reveille is a rough collie, and every Reveille since Reveille III has belonged to that breed. The first Reveille, a mixed-breed dog, was adopted by students in 1931). The most current Reveille is Reveille X, who assumed her mascot duties in May 2021. Reveille is handled by Mascot Company E-2 of the Corps of Cadets, and since 1960, she has been cared for by a Mascot Corporal, a sophomore cadet in Company E-2. The Mascot Corporal is chosen from within this unit each spring, and Reveille lives with the cadet for that year; she goes to class with him or her, out on dates, and even home for the holidays. All of the deceased Reveilles, including Reveille I, are buried outside the north end of Kyle Field, where they have a special scoreboard so that they can always watch the Aggies outscore their opponents.
