An atomizer is a component of a vaping device that is responsible for generating the vapor that is inhaled by the user. It consists of several parts, including a heating surface, a wick, and a reservoir to hold the e-liquid. The heating element, typically a coil, vaporizes the e-liquid on contact, and the resulting vapor is inhaled by the user. The term "atomizer" is often used as a catch-all term for all devices that make vapor with liquid. There are different types of atomizers, including rebuildable tank atomizers (RTAs) and clearomizers. While clearomizers are ready to use straight out of the box, atomizers require some time and practice to assemble the resistance coil. The first builds are rarely successful, and it is suggested to use a clearomizer until the user has learned how to make vaping enjoyable and reliable with an RTA.
