Augustine vampires are a type of vampire that appear in the TV show "The Vampire Diaries". They are different from other vampires in the show because they have been formed to feed on the blood of other vampires instead of looking for human blood. Wes Maxfield, a character in the show, forms these types of vampires by giving them the Ripper virus, which forces them to drink each others blood and eventually leads to the destruction of all vampires. Augustine vampires have longer veins that go all the way down to their cheeks instead of just around the eyes. They are also part of a hidden club at Whitmore College called the Augustine Society. Several characters become Augustine vampires throughout the show, including Damon Salvatore, Elena Gilbert, and Enzo.
