"Eldritch horror" is a type of horror based on the terrifying realization that we are meaningless. It is often associated with the works of H.P. Lovecraft and other authors who dabbled in the Cosmic Horror Story genre. An "Eldritch Abomination" is a type of creature defined by its disregard for the natural laws of the universe as we understand them. Physically, they are only defined by seeming somehow "off", hinting at their incomprehensible nature. They can range from humanoid to animalistic to physically impossible to inconceivably bizarre. "Eldritch Horrors" are monstrous creatures that live only to consume and destroy the world. "Eldritch Horror" is also the name of a cooperative game for one to eight players, based on the fiction of H.P. Lovecraft and inspired by the classic board game Arkham Horror.
