The Angallu case involves allegations against Chandrababu Naidu, the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and other Telugu Desam Party (TDP) officials, of instigating violence against local leaders of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) in August 2023. The government of Andhra Pradesh filed a formal police complaint in the case, alleging that Naidu and other TDP leaders attacked YSRCP leaders during a political rally in Angallu village. Naidu has been charged with attempted murder under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with other relevant sections in this case. On October 13, 2023, the Andhra Pradesh High Court granted anticipatory bail to Naidu in the Angallu violence case. However, he will remain in jail as he has two other corruption cases pending against him.
