Anti-Venom is a fictional antihero appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. It first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #569 in October 2008 and was created by Dan Slott and John Romita Jr. Anti-Venom is a symbiote that belongs to a race of amorphous extraterrestrial parasites known as the Symbiotes and is regarded as Venoms symbiotic brother_(Earth-616)). Unlike most of the other symbiotes in the Marvel universe, Anti-Venom isn’t necessarily a relative or descendant of Venom. Instead, hes shown himself to be an altered version of the original symbiote. Anti-Venom has a complicated history despite the fact he hasn’t been around as long as his counterpart has. There have been a few characters who have used the name Anti-Venom over the years, and each has left their mark on the characters legacy.

Anti-Venom has unique abilities that set him apart from other symbiotes. For example, he is invulnerable to the traditional weaknesses of symbiotes, such as fire and sonics_(Earth-616)). Anti-Venom can also carry vast amounts of knowledge regarding not just his host but anyone he physically touches. With just a single touch, Anti-Venom can draw on the memories of those around him, their experiences, and their lives. In some cases, Anti-Venom could go so far as to "cure" superhumans of their superpowers, which was almost the case with Spider-Man.

Anti-Venom has appeared in various Marvel media, including comic books, video games, and movies. For example, the Eddie Brock incarnation of Anti-Venom appears as a playable character in Marvel Contest of Champions. The Anti-Venom symbiote appears as an alternate skin for Eddie Brock/Venom in Marvels Midnight Suns.
