Antisemitism is hostility, prejudice, or discrimination against Jews. It is the worlds oldest hatred, dating back thousands of years, and can take many forms. Antisemitism can be expressed as hatred towards Jews, and it can be directed towards Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, Jewish community institutions, and religious facilities. It can also include the targeting of the state of Israel, conceived as a Jewish collectivity, but criticism of Israel similar to that leveled against any other country cannot be regarded as antisemitic. Antisemitism frequently charges Jews with conspiring to harm humanity, and it is often used to blame Jews for "why things go wrong". Antisemitism can be expressed in speech, writing, visual forms, and action, and employs sinister stereotypes and negative character traits. Despite making up just 2% of the U.S. population and 0.2% of the world population, antisemites believe that Jews have an influence over politics, economics, capitalism, communism, the COVID-19 pandemic, and any number of other conflicts and current events.
