Anyo is a term used in Filipino martial arts, specifically in Arnis, which refers to a demonstration of artistic, choreographed, pre-arranged sets of movements, offensive and defensive techniques using stick, wooden replica, or bladed weapons. It is a way of expression of Filipino martial practice through creative dancing with sticks or swords. In Modern Arnis, Anyo is the application of all styles learned throughout ones training, and is performed with a specific weapon, such as a cane, dagger, or hands, to show the flow of that form. Anyo requires certain proficiency of beat, tempo, timing, agility, and most of all, diwang panlaban or fighting spirit. Athletes would perform sequences of movements using one or two batons, usually accompanied by music.
