Apollo is one of the Olympian deities in classical Greek and Roman religion and mythology. He is considered to be one of the most important and complex of the Greek gods, and is the son of Zeus and Leto, and the twin brother of Artemis, goddess of the hunt. Apollo has been recognized as a god of many things, including:

Apollo is also known for his love affairs with both men and women, including Daphne and Hyacinthus. He is often depicted as a beardless youth, either naked or robed, and is associated with the bow and arrow, as well as the lyre. Apollo was worshipped throughout the ancient world, and his oracle at Delphi was one of the most famous in Greece.
