Aro is a character in the Twilight saga who is one of the three leaders of the Volturi, the dominant coven of the vampire world. He is widely accepted as the overall leader of the Volturi and possesses the gift of tactile telepathy, which is the supernatural talent to read all the thoughts and memories a person has ever had with a single touch. Aros powers allow him to blackmail, fool, manipulate, and coerce everyone into compliance. He can read peoples minds, and he can reach far more deeply into a persons mind than Edward Cullen, another character in the series, because of his ability to read every thought and memory a person has ever had.
