The Asia Cup is a mens international cricket tournament contested between Asian countries in either One Day International format (50 overs) and Twenty20 International cricket format (20 overs). It was established in 1983 when the Asian Cricket Council was founded as a measure to promote goodwill between Asian countries. The tournament alternates every 2 years between ODI and T20 formats. The winning team becomes the champion of Asia, and it is the only continental championship in cricket. The 2023 Asia Cup was the 16th edition of the tournament and was held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka between August 30 and September 17, 2023. Six teams, including India, Pakistan, Nepal, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and defending champions Sri Lanka, fiercely competed for a spot in the final. India emerged as the champions after defeating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in the final. The tournament consisted of a total of 13 matches, with four in Pakistan and nine in Sri Lanka. It was the first Asia Cup to be held in multiple countries, with four matches being played in Pakistan and the remaining nine matches being played in Sri Lanka.
