Bhavyasri was a 17-year-old girl from Venugopalapura, Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh, whose dead body was found in a well on September 21, 2023. Her disappearance was reported on September 17, and the police registered a case of suspicious death the following day based on a complaint filed by her father. The #JusticeForBhavyasri campaign is trending on social media, seeking fairness for her. The police are investigating the case, and four youths have been detained and questioned, but they have not yet been charged with a crime. The postmortem found no injuries on Bhavyasris body, and her hair had fallen out because the body was lying in water for so long, but the villagers did not accept this explanation. Further tests are being conducted to determine if this is a case of poisoning or if violence took place. According to a social media post, Bhavyasri had received love proposals from four boys, but she rejected all of them. One of these boys persisted, and she eventually approved. The boy allegedly took Bhavyasri on his bike and then got together with the other three boys who the latter had rejected. These four individuals have allegedly put Bhavyasri through physical abuse and eventually dumped her body in the well. However, the authenticity of this post cannot be established for the time being, and it remains to be seen what the police investigation will unearth.
