Brut cuvée is a type of sparkling wine that is characterized by its dryness. The term "cuvée" refers to a blend of wines, and it is often used on sparkling wine labels to denote a special or select wine. However, for practical purposes, cuvée means virtually nothing, and it does not relate to sweetness or any other style attribute, such as flavor, bouquet, or structure. On the other hand, "brut" is a classification of sparkling wine based on the amount of sugar it contains. Brut sparkling wine contains no more than 12 grams/liter of residual sugar, which makes it dry. Therefore, brut cuvée is a blend of dry sparkling wines.
