Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) is a safety feature available in many Toyota models. BSM uses radar sensors mounted in the rear bumper to detect vehicles in the vehicles blind spot and illuminates a warning indicator on the appropriate sideview mirror when it detects a vehicle in the blind spot. If a turn signal is still activated despite this visual alert, the mirror indicator will flash. BSM functionality is available when surrounding vehicles are traveling at speeds above 10 mph. In most Toyota vehicles, the BSM system can be enabled and disabled through the vehicles Multi-Information Display (MID) . Some vehicles may use a dedicated physical button on the dash to enable and disable the BSM system.
