CC charges in TNEB stands for Current Composition charges, which is a charge levied monthly or bimonthly, depending on the type of service. It is the late fee that an individual needs to pay if there is an unpaid amount or units left for the last month. In other words, CC charges represent the actual cost of electricity consumption during the billing cycle, including energy charges based on the units consumed and any applicable fixed charges or additional charges based on the consumer category, connected load, and other factors.
It is important to note that CC charges are different from BPSC charges. BPSC charges are levied in TNEB if a bill is paid after the due date, and it is about 1.5% of the bill amount.
Consumers of Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) can now pay their Current Consumption (C.C) charges in advance through the online portal using Advance CC payment option.
