CCG stands for Clinical Commissioning Group, which is a type of National Health Service (NHS) organization in England. CCGs were created following the Health and Social Care Act in 2012, and replaced primary care trusts on 1 April 2013. They were clinically-led statutory NHS bodies responsible for the planning and commissioning of health care services for their local area. CCGs worked with patients, healthcare professionals, local communities, and local authorities to assess local needs, decide priorities and strategies, and then buy services on behalf of the population from providers such as hospitals, clinics, community health bodies, etc. CCGs were membership bodies, with local GP practices as the members. Each CCG was responsible for persons who were provided with primary medical services by a member of the group, and persons who usually reside in the groups area and were not provided with primary medical services by a member of any clinical commissioning group. CCGs operated by commissioning (or planning, buying, and monitoring) healthcare services including most community health services, elective hospital care, rehabilitation care, urgent and emergency care, etc. However, CCGs were dissolved in July 2022, and their duties were taken on by the new integrated care systems (ICSs) .

It is important to note that CCG can also stand for Collectible Card Game, which is a type of card game that mixes strategic deck building elements with features of trading cards.
