Chitta is a synthetic drug that is considered to be highly addictive, fast-acting, and most abused drug. It is an adulterated form of heroin and is highly lethal as its overdose could even result in death. Chitta is being smuggled into Himachal Pradesh from Punjab and is more addictive and fatal than the one sourced from Delhi. The situation is worst in the age group of 15-30 years as chitta has become the first choice among youngsters. The youngest chitta user lodged in a rehab center was just 13 years old. Consuming chitta regularly for three to four months could result in platelets falling below 10,000, which could prove fatal. Chitta users are basically multiple drug users. They drink, dope and consume opium, besides chemicals, but get addicted to chitta. The physical symptoms of chitta drug include euphoric rush. Chitta drug affects the internal health of a person and can cause a drastic decline in platelets. It is important to note that chitta refers to synthetically produced drugs that include heroin.
